LAYERS OF TIME00:00:00:00·SINGULARITY 0.8.12

SINGULARITY · Beta 0.8.12 · 8 Oct 2026

Every deck. Every fixture. Every frame. One clock.

SINGULARITY sits at front of house, reads the Pioneer DJ network and turns what the DJ does into synced timecode, OSC and DMX for lighting desks, media servers and VJ software. It is the engine that runs our own shows, and it is in beta with a few venues. For Face 2 Face sets there is DUO.

CUE 01What it does

  1. 01

    Owns the network

Reads CDJs and the DJM mixer directly over Pro DJ Link. No audio analysis, no guessing the beat.

  2. 02

    Extrapolates, never steps

Position and timecode are computed from the last known position, pitch and elapsed time. Packets arrive late; the frame does not.

  3. 03

    Every output at once

SMPTE LTC, MTC, Art-Net Timecode, TCNet, OSC, Art-Net DMX and a WebSocket API from one show state.

  4. 04

    Main and standby

Pull the plug on the main and the standby takes over in 4.6 seconds. HAND BACK returns control cleanly.

  5. 05

    Set-list prep

Pre-program timecode offsets and cues per track, so a CDJ load triggers the media server.

  6. 06

    Automation lanes

Draw a fade for any DMX channel or Resolume parameter under the waveform. It follows loops, jumps and pitch.

  7. 07

    Crew screens

CALL screens for every department on any phone, with countdowns and GO.

  8. 08

    DUO for Face 2 Face

Two DJs, two rigs, each SINGULARITY showing the other rig beside its own. On one laptop, in testing, both rigs become one show of eight decks.

  9. 09

    Set reports

What the artist played, skipped and dropped in, as a one-page PDF, in the venue's own time zone.

  10. 010

    Updates, never mid-show

One-click updates, checksum verified, refused while Show lock is on or timecode is running.

CUE 02DUO

Two DJs. Two rigs. One show.

A Face 2 Face set is two DJs on two rigs, mixing together, facing each other. DUO is SINGULARITY built for that night: each rig keeps its own decks, mixer and timecode, and every screen shows both.

Two laptops · released

Each DJ keeps a laptop. Each laptop shows both rigs.

  • The other rig’s decks, waveforms and mixer beside your own, labelled by rig name.
  • One dedicated cable between the laptops, on its own network. Pairing by PIN.
  • View-only. Each laptop drives only its own outputs; nothing from the other side reaches your timecode or cues.
  • Pull the cable and nothing on stage changes. The other side reads PEER OFFLINE and comes back by itself, in about four seconds.

In testing One laptop · prototype

Both rigs on one laptop. Eight decks in one show.

  • Each rig on its own network adapter and switch. A second engine reads DJ B’s CDJs.
  • DJ B’s decks join the show as decks 5–8. TCNet carries all eight players to the media server.
  • Cues, automation lanes, Art-Net, OSC and crew CALL screens follow whichever DJ plays a set-list track.
  • Each rig keeps its own LTC.
  • Tested at home with two linked copies. Not yet on a Face 2 Face stage.

CUE 04Who it is for

Lighting designers and programmers who want the desk to follow the DJ. VJs who want Resolume on the right frame without a tap-tempo. Show techs who need a standby that has actually been tested. Venues that run DJs every night and are tired of timecode that dies with the laptop.
